Tumescent Liposuction With Fat Transfer - COSMETIC PROCEDURES CLINIC & DR. NATHAN LONG, M.D.

Fat transfer is the transfer or movement of fat from one area of the body to another.

Fat transfer is also called fat grafting or fat injection. Currently, Dr. Long offers the Fat Transfer procedure to the buttocks only. This is done to increase the volume and augment the buttocks appearance.

Patients should always remember that there is a 50% chance in any fat transfer procedure that the fat cells transferred may not thrive and live in their new location. If the transferred fat cells do not survive or “take” they will naturally be resorbed or dissolve away.

During the process of fat transfer, the fat is liposuctioned out using the tumescent liposuction technique. Next, the fat is concentrated, removing the tumescent fluid. Finally, the fat cells are re-injected into the buttock area. To be a good candidate for fat transfer it is necessary that enough fat be present in another location for liposuction.

The benefit of using your own harvested fat to augment your buttocks area, is that it is natural.

Pictured above is an actual patient of Dr. Nathan Long, M.D. This patient had Tumescent Liposuction of the Flanks with Fat Transfer to the buttocks area.

We do not use fat implants to augment the buttocks only your own natural fat. During the procedure the skin is not cut. The fat is removed and injected using a very small incision.
